The U.S. Marshal Service arrested two fugitives in Gorham on Tuesday, including a juvenile implicated in a Westbrook shooting incident, requiring three local schools to temporarily lock down due to the high-risk nature of the warrants.

The Gorham Police Department and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department joined the federal Marshals at around 11:20 a.m. in executing a warrant at 162 Narragansett St.
Law enforcement surrounded the residence intending to execute an arrest warrant for the juvenile suspect, who allegedly violated his conditions of release and failed to appear in court for a reckless conduct charge stemming from an alleged May shooting incident in Westbrook.
While executing the warrant, law enforcement seized firearms and discovered Kaleb Danner, 21, who was allegedly subject to a warrant for failure to appear in court for operating under the influence and for violating conditions of release.
Danner was also charged with theft as part of an ongoing investigation.
U.S. Marshals believed that the juvenile was actively trying to elude law enforcement and had been intermittently staying with different associates.
“This joint operation reflects the strength of collaboration between federal and local law enforcement, exactly what our Task Forces stands for. Our pursuit of public safety in communities like Gorham is relentless. Those who threaten it will find no refuge, no safe haven,” said District of Maine Chief Deputy Marshal Josh Taylor.
In response to the law enforcement activity, Gorham High School, Gorham Middle School, and Village Elementary School went into lockdown, with doors being locked but classes continuing as normal.
The lockdowns went into effect at 11:20 a.m. and continued until 12:40 p.m.
