The Brunswick Police and Fire Departments responded at around 7:15 a.m. to reports of a crash involving a bicycle on Old Bath Road near a Route 1 overpass.

Police found the cyclist, Silas Octavi Esquivel Pérez, 23, of Brunswick, dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle that allegedly struck Esquivel Perez, Lance Lucas-Wallace, 41, of Brunswick, reportedly fled the scene immediately after the crash.

He later returned, was arrested, and transported to the Cumberland County Jail, where he is being held on a $100,000 bail.

The driver faces charges of aggravated leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, operating under the influence resulting in death, and manslaughter.

Lucas-Wallace will first appear in court on December 16.
