The Kennebec Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting incident caught on video last Friday outside a Farmingdale apartment building.

At approximately 9:19 p.m., Kennebec deputies responded to an apartment building at 60 Hasson Street in Farmingdale after receiving reports of multiple gunshots.

By the time deputies arrived, they were unable to locate any persons or vehicles of interest.

The Maine State Police, Gardiner Police Department, and Hallowell Police Department responded to assist in the investigation but did not immediately find anything.

As of Thursday, no victim has come forward to complain of being shot at, and the Sheriff’s Department believes that the victims want to avoid law enforcement involvement, possibly because there was illegal activity going on at the residence.

“This type of violent act presents a significant public safety threat that cannot be tolerated,” said Kennebec County Chief Deputy Chris Read.

The Sheriff’s Department is seeking public assistance in the case and is requesting any information that can lead to the apprehension of the suspects.

The department released security footage that appears to show three suspects running away from a building and shooting in its direction. It seems to show two of the three suspects shooting with handguns.

The faces of the suspects are not clearly visible in the footage.
