WASHINGTON- President Donald J. Trump announced in a Truth Social post, Saturday afternoon, that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is dead, calling him “one of the most evil people in History” and declaring the development “Justice for the people of Iran” and for Americans and others around the world killed or injured by the Iranian regime.

“This is not only Justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans, and those people from many Countries throughout the World, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty THUGS,” Trump wrote.

The president said Khamenei was unable to evade U.S. intelligence and “Highly Sophisticated Tracking Systems,” adding that the operation was carried out “working closely with Israel.” Trump also stated that other Iranian leaders were killed alongside Khamenei and that there was “not a thing he, or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do.”

Trump framed the moment as a turning point for Iran, calling it “the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country.” He claimed that members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), military, and other security forces no longer want to fight and are seeking immunity.

“As I said last night, ‘Now they can have Immunity, later they only get Death!’” Trump wrote.

The president urged the IRGC and police to “peacefully merge with the Iranian Patriots” and work together to restore the country. He described Iran as having been “very much destroyed and, even, obliterated” in just one day, referencing what he called “heavy and pinpoint bombing.”

Trump made clear that military operations are not over.

“The heavy and pinpoint bombing, however, will continue, uninterrupted throughout the week or, as long as necessary to achieve our objective of PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD!” he wrote.

He closed the statement with: “Thank you for your attention to this matter. PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”
