WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump says he is directing the Secretary of War and other federal departments and agencies to begin identifying and releasing government files related to “alien and extraterrestrial life,” unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), citing what he called “tremendous interest” in the subject.

In a Truth Social media statement, Trump said the effort would cover “any and all other information” connected to what he described as “highly complex, but extremely interesting and important” matters, ending with “GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

The announcement lands amid a renewed wave of national attention on UAPs and UFO-related government records, a topic that has driven years of public curiosity, political pressure, and intermittent pushes for greater transparency.

While Trump did not detail a timetable or specify which files would be released, the move signals an intent to expand what the administration is willing to surface publicly on an issue that has long fueled speculation, and, in recent years, has also become the subject of formal government review and congressional interest.
