At approximately 7:30 a.m., the Oxford Sheriff’s Department received information of a potential bomb threat made against the school, located on Powhatan Road.
Deputies responded and worked with school staff to place the school on lockdown and establish safety protocols.
An investigation led law enforcement to identify Lucas Johnson, 43, of Otisfield, who reportedly made the threat.
Deputies then located Johnson in Portland and arrested him.
He was transported to the Oxford County Jail and charged with felony terrorizing, though he has since made bail and been released.
His bail conditions prohibit him from being on school district property or having contact with school staff, teachers, or administrators.
The Sheriff’s Department did not provide any information on whether Johnson’s alleged threat was believed to be credible or what his motive may have been.
Johnson has previously submitted legislative testimony in which he claimed that he uses marijuana as a food and eats every part of the plant.
“I’m from otisfield, Maine and I am for this amendment. I use cannabis frequently as
food to maintain a healthy lifestyle and over all well being. I consume every part of
the plant. It is food. Please hear us, the people, over corporate lobbyists,” he said in his 2023 testimony.

Out on bail to do as he pleases / Who knew. I’d keep my kid out of that school until this moron was in jail
There are no details here of the threat to bomb the school. It seems strange that Johnson would have been allowed to post bail before having a detailed health evaluation. Anyone nuts enough to threat to bomb a school is certainly nuts enough to not follow bail conditions.
