A number of vehicle registrants across Maine are being tagged with New Hampshire toll violations amid the recent plate changeover.
When Maine began switching from chickadee plates to the new pine tree motif, vehicle owners were expected to pay an extra $25 to keep their old numbers.
But some who chose to receive new randomly assigned numbers are now getting fined for not transferring the change to their EZ Pass accounts.
The problem is typically occurring when vehicles are passing crossing the I-95 border between Maine and New Hampshire.
A new Reddit thread has been created by Maine drivers caught up in the plate changeover mess.
“The plate switch got me a couple EZ pass violations, which is ridiculous for a few reasons, but I ended up paying New Hampshire EZ Pass $8 because it was easier than trying to talk to a human and get it resolved the right way,” one Reddit poster said.
“I got a couple violations too because I got the blank plate (no tree) and for some reason that messes with things,” said another.
And who do Maine plate holders have to thank for the latest tag changeover mess? Secretary of State Shenna Bellows.
For Bellows the plate issue became a problem even as she tried to will it away while running for governor.
The plate boss came in fourth last week in the state’s Democrat gubernatorial primary thanks to voters who realized if she couldn’t manage license plates she couldn’t run an entire state.
In other words, she got tagged with managerial incompetence.
The plate changeover became a mess from the start when a number of tags came through with misplaced pine tree logos.
Bellows got a lot of negative publicity over the misplaced tree – not helpful as she geared up for a run at the governorship.
Bellows contracted with a Canadian company to make the new plates, which formerly were stamped out by Maine State Prison inmates.
Below (I accidentally misspelled her name but left it. It’s fitting) shoved that stupid tree plate at us because she was butt hurt that her stupid flag didn’t pass.
I opted for the plain plate for that reason.
What a joke she is. She needs to be fired ASAP!
We didn’t need new plates it would have been way less expensive or an issue at all if she used the Maine state prison instead to make the same plates to reissue drivers instead.
The tree plates look stupid any way and what’s the deal with that star. We’re not Texas.

Great that Sheena Bellows will not be running for Governor; however, will we still be stuck with the incompetent witch as Sec of State?
I am so thankful that Bellows won’t be the next governor of Maine .

Light background with dark letters on plates make it easy for A.I controlled / monitored traffic cam and cctv to read your plate number. You want loud plates. Darker backgrounds with a closer match to numbers and a frame that takes up some of the plate. You can also use veil stealth coating. Remember, the jew controls A.I and they use it to murder civilians. Stay safe.

Why not just get rid of the Maine highway tolls? Weren’t they suppossed to be temporay just long enough to pay for the highway?
Reading this, it appears that the problem is with New Hampshire — that Maine’s easy pass system works, but it doesn’t share the information with New Hampshire and if that is the case, then it very much is Shana‘s problem because she’s the one responsible for connecting the numbering system to people who have easy passes.
Now, if it’s people who participate in an New Hampshire only program that be different story, but who in Maine would only have a New Hampshire easy pass?
In fairness, license plates haven’t been made in the state prison for 40 years now.
The contract to make the lobster license plates which came online in 1986 went to a Massachusetts company, and I think that was the end of plates being made in the prison.
How much I dislike SheBlows, it’s your responsibility to update your TransPass info. It likely took longer to post a comment on Reddit than it would to update your TransPass info.

So we changed over to the plate without the green butt-plug, changed the numbers on ez and still got a toll violation in the mail, twice. After 1+ hours on hold we were told that you must also now have the electronic tracker which we never needed before. I hate what those morons have done to this state.
This article is a chap shot at Bellows. The stupid people forgot to change their EZ-PASS records. The problem has nothing to do with Bellows and everything to do with hate-mongering Meine Wire.
