At approximately 4:00 p.m., Sanford police responded to a Lebanon Street address to execute an arrest warrant charging Lucas Matt, 31, of Sanford, with domestic violence reckless conduct.
The arrest warrant stemmed from an incident reported earlier on the same day at the same home.
Due to safety concerns, a Maine State Police Special Response Team assisted in the arrest.
Matt was taken into custody without incident and transported to the York County Jail.
After arresting Matt, law enforcement executed a search warrant at the residence and collected evidence related to the alleged domestic violence incident.
The police department is not releasing additional details as their disclosure could compromise law enforcement or court proceedings.
Matt has a lengthy history of arrests. In 2021, he was arrested on a warrant for aggravated criminal mischief after he allegedly rammed a truck through the gates of the Sewerage District in Sanford.
He was arrested again last August after he allegedly crashed his truck into an Oxford Street apartment building before attempting unsuccessfully to flee.
