A Bangor man who was found with drug paraphernalia and a firearm during a traffic stop pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court in Bangor to charges of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and possessing controlled substances with the intent to distribute them.
Andrew Blais, 37, of Bangor, was arrested by Bangor Police in October 2023 after police identified an active warrant out for his arrest during a traffic stop.
According to court records, officers observed drug paraphernalia in open view inside Blais’ vehicle, and recovered bundles of cash and a loaded handgun from his person.
A subsequent search of Blais at the Penobscot County Jail revealed 38 individual bags containing fentanyl concealed underneath his clothing, federal prosecutors said.
According to the Maine U.S. Attorney’s Office, Blais was prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition due to a prior felony drug trafficking conviction.
Blais faces up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $1 million and at least three years of supervised release.
He is a good boy. He is just supporting supporting the drug polices of Joe and his voting staff of Democrates.in Maine.
