President Joe Biden took to twitter on Wednesday to announce, in a highly edited video, that he will debate Former President Donald Trump twice before the general election is held in November.
“Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020, and since then he hasn’t shown up for a debate, now he’s acting like he wants to debate me again, well make my day pall, I’ll even do it twice. So let’s pick the dates Donald, I hear you’re free on Wednesdays,” said President Biden.
The video, which was intended to portray Biden as a confident and coherent candidate, prepared for a debate “anywhere, anytime” was cut five times in only 14 seconds, suggesting that he was unable to deliver the seconds-long address without errors which required the numerous cuts.
Biden’s announcement comes after President Trump has issued numerous debate challenges to Biden following his massive Super Tuesday victory.
Until now, Biden has avoided officially accepting Trump’s challenges, as concerns over Biden’s mental fitness for office have grown ever higher in recent months.

Those fears grew significantly following a February press conference in which Biden attempted to address claims made by Special Council Robert Hur, that Biden is mentally unfit to stand trial.
Instead of dispelling concerns over his mental state, Biden gave further fuel to allegations of senility, making numerous mistakes including a statement suggesting that Mexico borders Gaza.
Biden attempted to project confidence with a response to his own post on X, in which he requested donations for his campaign while insulting Trump voters.
“When I get up on stage, it’ll be me and this grassroots team versus Donald Trump and his MAGA minions. It will be democracy versus authoritarianism. Revenge and retribution versus a vision for our future,” said Biden on X.
According to a CNN report, Biden’s campaign reached out to the Commission on Presidential Debates, saying that he will not be attending debates which they host using allegedly impartial moderators.
Instead, he wants the debates to be hosted by unspecified news organizations, which would likely mean legacy media organizations that skew in favor of Biden.
Biden’s campaign proposed two debates, one in June and one in September.
Trump responded to Biden’s comments, mocking Biden over his past debate performance, accepting the proposed June and September debates, and calling for the debates to be held in large, public venues.
“Crooked Joe Biden is the WORST debater I have ever faced – He can’t put two sentences together,” said Trump on Truth Social, “I am Ready and Willing to Debate Crooked Joe at the two proposed times in June and September. I would strongly recommend more than two debates and, for excitement purposes, a very large venue, although Biden is supposedly afraid of crowds – That’s only because he doesn’t get them. Just tell me when, I’ll be there. “Let’s get ready to Rumble!!”
Following Trump’s acceptance, the two candidates took to social media to announce that they have each accepted offers from CNN to host a debate on June 27, and another debate hosted by ABC on September 10.
“It is my great honor to accept the CNN Debate against Crooked Joe Biden, the WORST PRESIDENT in the History of the United States and a true Threat to Democracy, on June 27th. Likewise, I accept the ABC News Debate against Crooked Joe on September 10th. Thank you, DJT,” said Trump.
Joe reminds me of the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz, who comes from behind a tree onto the Yellow Brick Road, and says, “Put em up. Put em up. Which one of you first? I’ll fight you both together if you want. I’ll fight you with one paw tied behind my back. I’ll fight you standing one one foot. I’ll fight you with my eyes closed.” Joe Biden and the cowardly lion…two peas in a pod. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzlhEsWI2Pw
