The Penobscot Sheriff’s Department arrested an Exeter man on Friday after he allegedly assaulted his family members and stabbed one of them.

At approximately 1:07 p.m., Penobscot deputies responded to an Avenue Road residence in Exeter for a report of a man assaulting his family members.
Deputies arrived to discover Babi Taitam, 33, of Exeter, walking in the middle of the road.
He was immediately detained.
At the home, deputies found two injured victims. One of the victims had been stabbed.
Ambulance personnel treated the victims at the scene.
The investigation led to charges of aggravated assault, domestic violence assault, and criminal threatening against Taitam, who was transported to the Penobscot County Jail.
Taitam was previously arrested in 2024 on charges of domestic violence assault, criminal mischief, and refusing to submit to arrest or detention.
