The Sanford Police Department arrested a Lebanon man on Saturday after he allegedly pulled his car alongside another driver and fired multiple shots into his car.

At approximately 2:00 a.m., the York Sheriff’s Department received a report that a man was traveling along Route 202 in Lebanon when a black sedan pulled up alongside him.

The driver of the sedan then allegedly fired multiple rounds from a firearm into the complainant’s car.

The complainant reported that he had not been struck.

Deputies arrived and determined that two rounds had allegedly struck the victim’s car.

One went through the driver’s side door and the other struck a tire, disabling the vehicle.

The victim was able to give a description of the vehicle, and a subsequent investigation led deputies to identify a suspect and a vehicle allegedly involved.

The York Sheriff’s Department issued a bulletin to local police departments telling them to be on the lookout for the suspect and vehicle.

At approximately 4:40 a.m., a Sanford Police officer spotted the vehicle outside a Sanford business.

The Sanford Police Department then made contact with the operator, identified as Cavhary Shaw, 19, of Lebanon.

He was arrested and charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and criminal mischief.

Police allegedly recovered a firearm from the suspect’s vehicle.

Shaw was transported to the York County Jail, where his bail was set at $25,000.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges could follow.

The sheriff’s department did not specify whether they believe the alleged shooting was targeted.

On Monday, the sheriff’s department issued a follow-up press release reporting that a 14-year-old girl from Sanford was also arrested on charges of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon in connection with the alleged shooting.
