The Maine State Housing Authority (MaineHousing) announced Thursday that it has allocated $8.7 million in state and federal tax credits to affordable housing projects in Bangor, Bath, Portland and Westbrook.

MaineHousing stated that the $8.7 million in tax credits will result in over $37.7 million in equity from private investors across the four housing projects, and a total of 185 units targeted towards families and older Mainers.

The tax credits come in addition to $8.5 million in subsidies and $12.4 million in loans from MaineHousing towards the construction of affordable housing across the state.

“These new developments add to our already healthy and historic multifamily pipeline,” said MaineHousing Director Dan Brennan Thursday. “All Maine people deserve a safe, warm, and affordable home. These investments bring us closer to achieving that fundamental goal.”

“Importantly, these investments also create new jobs while strengthening our local economies, ensuring that both those entering the workforce and those exiting it have greater opportunities to access a well-built and affordable place to call home,” Brennan added.

The four development projects — listed in the table below — were awarded the funding after being selected from eight proposals through a “competitive process that saw the highest scoring proposals receive funding,” according to MaineHousing.

The recipient of the largest combined state and federal tax credits, the Equality Community Center in Portland, is for the construction of 45 units of affordable housing “for LGBTQ+ older adults and allies.”

“The new housing structure will be open to all and include housing options for LGBTQ+ older adults (ages 55+) and other marginalized members of our community,” the Equality Community Center writes on its website. “Our goal is to make affordable housing available in the heart of Portland with easy access to public services, health care, entertainment and recreation.”

“for LGBTQW(Whatever)+ older adults and allies”. Who are the “allies” and “marginalized”? I see a lawsuit in the making if we had any attorneys with a spine in this state.

Just when I see the way ahead, it becomes too complex: My wife refuses to have her locks shorn so that we could qualify as married fags. By the time I can grow my hair out so that we could qualify as married Lesbos, the apartments will all be rented out. Oh well, who would want to live in PWM, even for free?

So now segregation and discrimination are a-okay.
In fact I contacted HUD about the discrimination concerning Avesta and other tax exempt subsidized housing companies that are getting rich off taxpayer money coming right out and say their new housing developments are only for the African illegals.
They told me they won’t even look at it because I was not directly discriminated.
    Nice, eh?
Anything to ruin the country with leftists.
