After boycotting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s congressional address on Wednesday, Vice President Kamala Harris released a statement condemning violent protestors who vandalized U.S. monuments and burned American flags.
“Yesterday, at Union Station in Washington, D.C. we saw despicable acts by unpatriotic protestors and dangerous hate-fueled rhetoric. I condemn any individuals associating with the brutal terrorist organization Hamas, which has vowed to annihilate the state of Israel and kill Jews. Pro-Hamas graffiti and rhetoric is abhorrent and we must not tolerate it in our nation. I condemn the burning of the American flag. That flag is a symbol of our highest ideals as a nation and represents the promise of America,” said Harris.

Despite Kamala’s harsh condemnation of the protests, she displayed her own disdain for Netanyahu’s speech by avoiding it entirely, along with Maine Sen. Angus King and Rep. Chellie Pingree.
Netanyahu’s speech received a far different reception from Democrats, including Harris, than the numerous congressional addresses delivered by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which have been received with thunderous applause and fawning praise.
In one case, Harris even held up a Ukrainian flag on the congressional floor.
Harris’s statement condemning the anti-Israel protests in D.C. marks a dramatic shift in her attitude towards violent riots.
In 2020, as Black Lives Matter (BLM) protestors across the country burned, looted, and murdered while protesting the death of career criminal George Floyd, Harris fundraised to pay the bails of criminals involved and endorsed the protests during an interview with Stephen Colbert.
“They’re not gonna stop before election day in November, and they’re not gonna stop after election day,” said Harris “they’re not gonna let up, and they should not.”
The shift in Harris’s rhetoric likely comes because she is now campaigning for president and doesn’t want to alienate those Americans who support law and order and who oppose violent rioters vandalizing their cities and monuments.
Harris selling us out. A true bright bulb democrat.
The Christian and Neoconservative Right is wrong on this issue. The New Right is closer to the anti-Zionist Left.
