“We’re fed up”: Texas Lt Gov Dan Patrick Suggests Taking Biden Off Ballot Over Border Crisis

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) joined Fox News host Laura Ingraham Tuesday to discuss the Colorado Supreme Court ruling that former President Donald Trump is ineligible to to appear on the state’s 2024 primary ballot.

The Colorado Supreme Court’s 4-3 decision cited the 14th Amendment’s “insurrection clause,” arguing that Trump’s role in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S Capitol Building constituted a rebellion against the government and prohibits him from holding public office.

The Trump campaign is expected to appeal the Colorado ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court, which holds a 6-3 conservative majority — three of whom are conservative justices appointed by the former president.

During his Fox News appearance, Lt. Gov. Patrick suggested that Texas should remove President Joe Biden from the state’s ballot over the president’s handling of the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“In fact, seeing what happened in Colorado tonight, Laura, it makes me think — except we believe in democracy in Texas — maybe we should take Joe Biden off the ballot in Texas for allowing 8 million people to cross the border since he’s been president,” Patrick told Ingraham

Patrick said Biden’s handling of the border is “disrupting our state far more than anything anyone else has done in recent history.”

The Lt. Gov.’s comments come amid record high encounters with migrants entering the U.S. illegally at the southern border.

This Monday, Border Patrol agents encountered a record number of more than 12,300 foreign nationals entering along the southern border without authorization.

Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbot signed into law a package of border security legislation this week aimed at curbing human smuggling and the influx of illegal border crossings.

“Four years ago, the United States had the fewest illegal border crossings in decades,” Gov. Abbot said Monday. “It was because of four policies put in place by the Trump Administration that led to such a low number of illegal crossings. President Biden has eliminated all of those policies and done nothing to halt illegal immigration.”

The first of the three bills creates a mandatory ten-year minimum prison sentence for human smuggling, and enhances criminal penalties for the operation of “stash houses” — houses where human smugglers cram illegal aliens before transporting them around the country.

The second bill appropriates an additional $1.54 billion for border security operations and barrier infrastructure.

The third bill creates a criminal offense for illegal entry into Texas from a foreign nation along with a penalty of up to 20 years in prison, and provides local and state government officials with a mechanism to return offenders to the foreign nation from which they attempted to illegally enter the state.

    @Mike Grove
    The 18 year old shooter of Uvalde school, Salvador Ramos, was an American citizen, having been born in the US, when he murdered the children. His father, Salvador Ramos,Sr. , also known as Chava, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and resisting arrest. His mother, Adriana Martinez, was charged with fraud(writing bad checks), and assault. She was living off welfare and food stamps at the time in an apartment with 6 people. His grandmother, Celia “Sally” Martinez Gonzales, whom he shot in the face prior to stealing her truck and driving to the school, was charged with an unspecified crime and sentenced to 2 years probation and paid a fine of $500.
    Not sure about their legal status, but they seem like fine upstanding people and a gift to our country, except for their mass murdering son.
