On Jan. 25, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Lynn, Mass. arrested an illegal alien with Mexican and Guatemalan citizenship who had been previously convicted for child rape and prostitution charges.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston arrested the 42-year-old illegal alien as part of a nationwide apprehension operation from Jan. 16 through Jan. 28, that resulted in the apprehension of 171 unlawfully present noncitizens with charges or convictions for murder, homicide or assault against children.

According to ICE, the 42-year-old Mexican and Guatemalan citizen unlawfully entered the U.S. at an unknown location and date prior to December 2004, without being inspected or admitted by immigration officials.

The illegal alien was convicted of rape of a child and sentenced to prison in Kent County, Delaware, in 2004.

After serving two years in prison, he was deported by immigration authorities in December 2006.

ICE says the man later unlawfully reentered the U.S. — also at an unknown location and date.

In November 2015, the Mexican and Guatemalan national was convicted on a prostitution charge in Lynn, Massachusetts.

ERO Boston, after confirming his presence in their area of responsibility, arrested the illegal alien without incident in Lynn on Jan. 25.

He will remain in ICE custody pending a order of removal by a federal immigration judge.

ICE did not release the individuals name.

“ERO Boston remains committed to finding and removing predators such as this from our New England neighborhoods,” ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd Lyons said Monday. “Our officers were able to locate and arrest this individual who has already proven to be a threat to children.”

“Despite having been previously removed by ICE, he found his way back to the United States, falsely believing he could reside in Massachusetts without repercussions. ERO Boston will not allow that to happen,” Lyons said.
