Russia has officially added Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) to its list of terrorists and extremists.

The decision, by Russian financial monitoring agency Rosfinmonitoring on Tuesday, came as Sen. Graham had been pushing for Russia to be designated a state sponsor of terrorism following the suspicious death of opposition politician Alexie Navalny in an Arctic prison.

“A video circulating online shows U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham saying during a meeting with the president of Ukraine that U.S. financial support is causing the deaths of Russian citizens,” said the Russian Internal Ministry in May, when a Russian arrest warrant was issued for Graham.

Graham took to X to criticize Russia for the death of Navalny.

“@JoeBiden, you said Russia would pay a price if they hurt Navalny: Keep your word and designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism,” said Graham.

The death of Alexei Navalny can not go unanswered by the international community.@JoeBiden, you said Russia would pay a price if they hurt Navalny:

The Russian move to add Graham to its terrorist list is largely symbolic, and will almost certainly lead to no consequences for the Senator.
