A Maine man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in a multistate methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy that operated Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and northern California.

Jacob Parlin, 44, of Lebanon, Maine was sentenced Friday by Mass. U.S. District Court Judge Leo Sorokin to 12 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release.

Parlin was convicted in November 2023 by a federal jury of one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, and one count of distribution of and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

In December 2021, Parlin was indicted along with nine others for their roles in a drug trafficking ring led by co-defendant Harry Tam, aka “Legendary H,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts.

Prosecutors said Parlin was one of Tam’s trusted business partners with whom he worked together to distribute methamphetamine in Maine, after having the drugs mailed from California or elsewhere to Brookline, Mass.

Tam pleaded guilty in July 2023 and is scheduled to be sentenced on April 4, 2024.

Parlin was arrested in New Hampshire in March 2021, while driving home to Maine from the Boston-area after meeting with Tam.

A search of Parlin’s car revealed approximately 880 grams of 100 percent pure methamphetamine hidden beneath the driver seat, in addition to more than three kilograms of methamphetamine, about a dozen firearms, and approximately $95,000 in cash that were seized over the course of the investigation.

Parlin is the ninth member of the drug trafficking ring to be convicted in the case.
