Maine’s Republican Senator, Susan Collins (R-Maine) said that she cannot support former President Donald Trump’s bid for a second term, but she couldn’t say who she will support on Election Day.

“I cannot support former president Trump, and I voted to convict him on these second impeachment charges. So I don’t think it should come as a surprise to anyone that I cannot support him,” said Sen. Collins.

Although Collins opposes Trump, she also expressed her dissatisfaction with President Joe Biden.

“I am also not happy with President Biden’s administration and like many Americans that have talked to him, like many Mainers, I don’t like the choice we have that appears to be coming our way, since I don’t think either President Trump or President Biden should be president,” said Collins.

A reporter tried to find out who Collins supported, asking what she thinks of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., nephew of President John F. Kennedy.

Collins laughed in response, and said that she would not vote for Kennedy.

She did not give any indication of who she might vote for in November, or whether she would vote at all.

“I don’t know what I shall do, It’s a long ways between now and November,” said Collins.

Sen. Collins has a history of bucking her party on key issues.

In 2021, Collins voted in favor of convicting Trump when he was impeached following the January 6 Capitol riot, supporting claims that the riot constituted an insurrection incited by Trump.

Last month, Collins was one of only four Republican senators to vote in favor of a controversial border security bill, which many conservative Republicans argued would worsen the invasion of illegal immigrants, rather than improve the situation.

That bill would also have allocated $118 billion for foreign aid to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan.

Despite Collins’ votes, both the Trump impeachment and the border security bill failed.

    Hahahahahahahahaha
How the hell does she get voted in every time?
Maine Republicans are literally just Democrats.

  2. CN Plummer on March 29, 2024 2:29 PM

She is in the Republican wing of the Democrat party.

  3. CLAYTON DAN MCKAY on March 29, 2024 3:33 PM

    Speak for yourself, Senator.

  4. Rooster on March 29, 2024 4:02 PM

I expect this will be her last term. How many Mainers has she killed with her support of open borders?

I was at at Cumberland County monthly meeting last week in Yarmouth. One of Collins’ lackeys showed up to say a word about how hard she is working on behalf of the Maine people. He received a very frosty response from those in attendance with one woman asking why she voted in the primary for Nookie Haley. Many Republicans do NOT like her. Unfortunately, not enough to elect someone else into that position.

I looked up “traitor” in the Webster’s dictionary, and lo and behold…..there was a picture of this repulsive, old, hag next to the definition. I’ve never voted for her, and still cannot understand how any “republican” Mainer could ? If a democRAT won her seat would we even notice ??

  7. Bob on March 29, 2024 9:47 PM

If Collins run again, it will be the first time in my adult life I’ll vote for a democrat!

  8. Mike Grove on March 30, 2024 4:44 AM

What everyone seems to miss in her statement is that she DIDN’T say she wouldn’t vote for Trump. Collins only said she would not support Trump. Parsing words is what Collins has done for years.

  9. Blob watcher on March 30, 2024 6:37 AM

Don’t kid yourself. She’ll be voting for Biden. She is a DC Swamp Creature through and through.

  10. beachmom on March 30, 2024 6:47 AM

    Who cares?
She votes with Dirty Dems and is a swamp creature.
She won’t support anyone who isn’t part of the club.
And why does she continue to send our money to Ukraine and why does she go over there for photo ops (on our dime)?
She doesn’t care what her constituents want and I’m willing to bet that within a couple of years of leaving the Senate (yay) she’ll move out of Maine.
She already has a big house in DC.
That way she can be a lobbyist for her defense contractor friends

Miss Potato Head is a sop. There to line her own pocket and vote with the dems most of the time. Why would anyone expect a rino/dem swamp critter like her to vote for Trump. Last election I wrote my own name in rather than cast a vote for this rotten potato.

Maine’s Republican party has long had a Susan Collins problem. She will not fight for conservative causes. Some conservative friends of mine, along with me too, held our noses and voted for her last time. She is what I call a “finger wetting” politician. She wets a finger and holds it up in the air to see which way the political winds are blowing before taking a stand on any political issue. Not a discernible principled bone in her body. Winning the next election is the only thing that matters. She needs the leftist votes from the “north Massachusetts” part of Maine, south of Augusta, thus has gone out of her way to adopt democrat ideas. She does NOT belong in the Republican party!

Check out her net worth on the internet some day soon and ask yourself how she became that wealthy on a $170,000 salary in DC. The professional political class in that wretched cesspool has been feeding out of the “globalism” trough for many years. Can’t help but think she has had her fingers in it too. Her masquerading as a Republican while supporting much of the leftist party’s ideology is just simply disgusting to watch.

  15. Chris on March 30, 2024 9:19 AM

One problem is that there are too many R’s that are just like Ms Potato Head. .

  16. Andy K on March 30, 2024 9:55 AM

She is indicative of why the Republicans are minor league. They don’t understand that sticking together is better than letting personal feelings dictate their actions. She is a dinosaur. Hopefully the MAGA party will prevail due to attrition of the bitter uniparty republicans.

I have read that for many, many years anytime a demorat president required her vote, all he needed to do was order one or two more destroyers to be built at Bath Iron Works. She will have a nice, very nice, retirement shilling for BIW.

  19. maine woman on March 30, 2024 10:52 AM

This RINO is exactly why conservatives lose. Collins is a fraud.

  20. Conservative on March 30, 2024 12:20 PM

Change Party Collins…You are not a Republican and even less a Conservative! You show your true colors every time you vote… Always with the Democrats. You need to quit now before being ousted in the next election.

  24. Roger Grant on March 31, 2024 6:27 AM

Collins didn’t support trump in 2016 & 2020. This is the next installment of the same.

  25. Mike on March 31, 2024 8:25 AM

Collins is one of the many dinosaurs in the senate who are way past their “sell by date”. I personally have not voted for her for several election cycles. I do not vote ever for the democrat either. She’s proven herself without ethics and like many in politics today is there to stroke her own ego. She loves being the minority party. Behind closed doors she likes the hugs and big sloppy kisses from her democrat colleagues. The question to ask is why she publicly announced now she will not support Trump. It’s one thing to pull the lever for President “Depends” Biden behind the curtain like you know most of her Rino colleagues. It’s another to put herself in the spotlight against a member of her own party. I’m sure she’ll be trotted out as a hero by the media as such a brave politician. She can’t win without democratic vote in this state. I’m sure this is another deceptive election ploy to ensure crossover votes the next election cycle for her senate seat.

  26. SteveL on March 31, 2024 9:21 AM

The only reason that she won the last election was her opponent was so despicable that even demonrats voted against satanic Sara with her husband sucking over 2 million from the covid PPP account for his “law” office! And that is the only reason that many voted for her, almost like the demonrat party wants her in office.

This woman has no more integrity than DHS Sec. Mayorkas. If she can’t vote for Trump no self respecting voter should vote for her ever again.
