Voter IDs Are Discriminatory, Burdensome, and Unnecessary: AG Garland

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland doubled down on the left-wing position that voter ID requirements somehow constitute racial discrimination.

[RELATED: Maine Dems Unanimously Reject Voter ID…]

“We are challenging efforts by states and jurisdictions to implement discriminatory, burdensome, and unnecessary restrictions on access to the ballot, including those related to mail-in voting, the use of drop boxes, and voter ID requirements,” said AG Garland speaking in a Baptist church in Alabama.

According to the common argument of left-wing opponents of voter ID laws, racial minorities lack the capability to obtain state IDs or Driver’s Licenses — a claim that some might even consider itself a racist attitude.

Garland also highlighted his efforts to stop some redistricting plans, which he claimed were discriminatory, because they could “dilute” the votes of black people.

Conservatives have been pushing for years to implement stricter voting laws in order to prevent voter fraud, which would be made significantly more difficult if photo ID was required before casting a ballot.

Those concerns grew following the 2020 election, which many Republicans believe to have been influenced by fraudulent election practices, and have grown amid unprecedented numbers of illegal immigrants entering the country, who can potentially vote in elections if security measures are not implemented.

Many on the left, from mainstream news outlets to President Joe Biden, have discounted the security benefits of voter ID requirements, and have claimed that they are merely a racist scheme by Republicans to stop ethnic minorities from voting.

Implicit in the Democrat argument is the belief that minority voters are incapable of obtaining a photo ID, something which poses very little difficulty and is required for numerous everyday activities.

Vinnie James, a black musician and self-described philosopher, called out the racism of Garland’s and other democrats’ argument on X.

“Dear black people, Biden AG Merrick Garland, thinks we’re too stupid to get an ID to vote. He thinks we’re too stupid to realize that with an ID, we guarantee nobody steals our vote. Are we too stupid like he thinks,” said James.

Garland delivered his remarks standing in front of exclusively black people, speaking at an event commemorating an incident during the civil rights movement.

Currently, Maine does not require any photo ID before allowing someone to vote, and recent attempts to institute voter ID and other election security measures have failed.

In February, Maine’s Legislative Council Democrats voted unanimously in opposition of a bill which would have required photo ID for voters, banned ballot harvesting, and allowed members of both parties to observe ballot handling.

Not as easy to cheat with voter ID.
That is why the Communist left doesn’t want it.

Well then why are id’s not cumbersome when flying or cashing a check?
Does he think black people don’t do anything that requires id?
These people don’t care how obvious they are any more. The state run media will run cover.

One man/woman – One vote!
We all (White, Black, Asian, Male/female) get ID’s in some form or another – driving licenses, work ID’s, college ID’s, passports etc.
Why therefore is getting a VOTER ID be ‘discriminatory’? IT IS NOT!

If voter id is discriminatory then central bank digital currency is discrimination on steroids. So are vaccine cards and fingerprints and conceal carry id’s.

-“redistricting plans, which he claimed were discriminatory, because they could “dilute” the votes of black people”. So Garland IS for segregation, good to know. Although anyone whos been paying attention already know democrats love segregation.

Garland is just another clown controlled by the pupet masters in the swamp. How this tool was a judge is beyond me. I’m thankful Trump kept him off the Supreme Court.

First we are being invaded by millions of illegal aliens and these lefties won’t secure our voting system by implementing photo id. I think the reason they won’t is blatantly obvious. Would be nice if they could be convicted of voter fraud and exiled from the US forever. Oops. I was fantasizing a bit.

He just reaffirmed the stupidity and ignorance of all democrat voters. Most black voters walk to the polling stations because they don’t have a drivers license.

They’re trotting out the same old specious arguments so that they can cheat. It’s pretty damn simple.

How glad we should be that the communistically inclined Garland did not make it onto the U S Supreme Court. He is obviously following the orders from obama and obama’s fellow travellers.

Idiot white female at American Legion tried to refuse my I.D when I presented it yesterday. She pointed at the wall and started saying something about Maine state law. I told her I wouldn’t say my name out loud. She said it was required. I told her to read my name off my Secretary of State issued I.D first. So she did reluctantly. I then repeated it. She pointed at the wall again and started saying something about Maine state law. I told her we were doing things my way. She told me I was unenrolled (like I didn’t know what shenna bellows did without notifying me) and could vote in either party primary. I took the Republican ticket. It had DeSantis and Vivek on it!? They dropped out two months ago! It also had Nimrata on it. Pretty sure she isn’t qualified because her parents were not yet citizens at the time of her birth. Thus not a naturalized citizen. As I was walking towards the booth to vote she started saying something to me about the Maine state law again and I cut her off with “don’t care”.

I voted for Donald J Trump as many times as I could. He got all my ranked choices.

IDs are just a distraction from ELECTION fraud, which is due to electronic vote-flipping and/or ballots which are hand-“counted” inaccurately because the voter isn’t there to make sure their ballot isn’t altered or swapped out w/ a different ballot–which can happen any time the voter’s chain-of-custody w/ their ballot is broken before that ballot is counted. Read all about it in BLACK BOX VOTING, online, for free.

Is he saying that minorities are not capable of getting a simple ID? That they are to dumb to do so? I need an ID to get a simple seasonal beach pass. Why do people buy into such blatant ignorant useless excuses to set up fraud in our once admired election system?
