Man Involved in Four-Car Crash That Left Maine Woman Dead Entered U.S. Illegally in January: Oguzhan Cildir

Illegal alien Oguzhan Cildir, 23, caused a car accident that killed an Albion woman and left her husband in critical condition

The man who caused a four-car accident on I-95 in April, leaving an Albion woman dead and her husband in critical condition, had entered the United States illegally from Mexico in January, the Maine Wire can confirm.

According to a U.S. Department of Homeland Security official, the Customs and Border Protection’s resident agent in Albion was contacted when Oguzhan Cildir, 23, was arrested at the scene of the accident because the arresting agency found that he “had immigration status from when he crossed on the Southwest border.”

The arresting agency then turned the individual over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement Removal Operations (ICE-ERO) for further processing and potential detainment.

According to the Maine Department of Pubic Safety (DPS), State Troopers responded to the crash near Exit 20 on I-95 in Wells on Friday, April 26, at around 8:40 a.m.

An initial investigation determined that the 23-year-old illegal alien — described at the time in media reports as living in Brighton, Mass. — was driving a Toyota Prius when he struck a minivan and a pickup truck, the department said in a press release.

Maine DPS said the pickup truck rolled over several times after being struck by Cildir’s Prius, and that the driver of the truck, 53-year-old Gloria Cascio of Albion, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her passenger and husband, Albion resident Vincent Cascio, 60, was flown by helicopter to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.

Cildir was taken by ambulance to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The drivers of the minivan and the fourth car involved in the crash, a gray Chevy Impala, were not seriously injured, Maine DPS said.

A law enforcement source familiar with the matter told the Maine Wire that at least five witnesses on the scene confirmed to police that Cildir had been driving erratically, weaving in between cars, prior to the crash.

The source also said that Cildir does not have a driver’s license. It’s unclear how he was able to obtain the Prius or who the vehicle may have belonged to.

Despite Cildir’s immigration status and involvement in the crash, the source said that York County District Attorney Kathryn Slattery has been reluctant to pursue charges against him, potentially due to Cildir facing deportation if charged with a crime.

The Maine Wire reached out to York DA Slattery on Friday asking whether her office chose not to charge Cildir with a crime due to his immigration status.

Slattery wrote in an email Monday that the crash “remains under investigation” and that she could not comment further.

She added that her office “has not received a final report” on the matter.

    Oh my gosh!
Slattery won’t prosecute because he’ll be deported?
Can’t let the public know illegals are murdering people.
She, Mills, the Legislature and the swamp politicians all have blood on their hands.
Slattery is herself breaking the law by covering up this horrendous crime.
Next….Cumberland County injuries and maybe death caused by illegals driving or otherwise committing crimes.

    Fellow citizens of Maine –

We must expel the invaders. Communist, neoliberal, & neoconservative representatives & government officials are not going to do it for us. In fact, many them support our dispossession, displacement, & progressive subjugation.

Gather with your neighbors & like minded friends and family to get on the same page & train. Get serious. You’ll know when it’s time.

Why are Turks coming over the Mexican border? These aren’t Mexicans trying to find a better life; thesed are dangerous Islamists trying to destroy American Culture. A Civil War is coming. Note these people, and we will put them on trial after for treason.

This illegal, like so many others that have entered this country under the Biden administration, murdered Vinnie’s wife. Vinny will now suffer his medical trauma, but most of all, the loss of his soul mate for life, Gloria. Almost certainly the illegal will be given a free pass, a debit card with tax payers funds for him to spend and a place to live and food to eat, plus an education if he desires.
This is the country we now live in under Democrat control with Liberal, Woke, ideology that has destroyed our way of life.

Lets hope the illegal gets out in time to vote in November.

  15. Chris on May 8, 2024 7:16 AM

Slatterly is a weasel! It’s her ilk that are in the vanguard of turning Maine and the country into a third world shit hole. Why people keep voting for these boneheads is beyond me.

Driving 295 daily through Portland is getting scary. Nice looking SUV’s which are apparently made available to “New Mainers” are a danger and a threat. The people driving are not aware of how to enter or leave the highway safely. They also don’t understand that they need to at least drive fast enough on highways to not cause a back up. One SUV actually came to a stop in a drive lane! AND CUMBERLAND COUNTY DA DOESN’T WANT TO CHARGE CRIMINALLY FOR DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE with flimsy excuse of a case load backlog!

If I ever get into a jam, I’m just going to say this: Por favour officer, I just want to be treated like an illegal alien.”

  18. SteveL on May 8, 2024 11:23 AM

Seems like Slattery is another Soros bought and paid for DA. As far as the illegal goes if they are reason for loss of life, then they should lose theirs, ship their body home as a warning. Just as these illegals peddling fentanyl they should be terminated and shipped back in a cardboard box, they don’t care about life neither should we for illegals! It’s time to protect our own, those running criminal pot farms need to be held no bail and charged so that there is no bail if illegal and any fentanyl is found they should be charged with attempted murder!

“District Attorney Kathryn Slattery has been reluctant to pursue charges against him, potentially due to Cildir facing deportation if charged with a crime.”

You know, the democrats have hindered the justice system to where there is no more justice. I would not blame or charge the family killed in Cildir’s crimes if they dealt out some vigilante justice. The illegal deserves the death penalty.
