Trump Guilty: Leftist Judge, Prosecutor Secure 34 Guilty Verdicts Against Trump

"Mother Teresa could not beat these charges. These charges are rigged," Trump said.

In a case that has been widely panned by mainstream legal analysts, former Republican President and current Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump has been found guilty by a New York City jury on 34 felony counts related to hush money payments made nearly a decade ago to a sex worker.

The case is one of several instances of left-wing prosecutors waging lawfare against the former Republican president using questionable tactics and novel legal theories.

As Democratic President Joe Biden seeks a second term, Democrats are hoping the guilty verdicts will tilt the scales in their favor and reverse the incumbent’s flagging poll numbers amid ongoing inflation-driven economic malaise, an immigration crisis at the southern border, and international chaos from Ukraine to Israel.

The Manhattan jury found Trump guilty on all counts, marking the first time a U.S. president has been convicted of a felony.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg argued that Trump engaged in an illegal conspiracy when his accountants categorized a hush money payment to porn actress “Stormy Daniels” – a.k.a. Stephanie Clifford – as a business expense rather than reporting the payment to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) as a campaign expenditure.

Judge Merchan, whose daughter worked as a well-paid Democratic political consultant for President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign, has set a sentencing hearing for July 11.

Following the verdict, Trump’s attorney’s moved for an acquittal notwithstanding the verdict, arguing that the jury’s decision heavily relied on the testimony of former Trump lawyer and ex-con Michael Cohen, whom the defense accused of perjury.

Cohen, a disbarred attorney who previously pled guilty to financial crimes and perjury, was the prosecution’s star witness.

Merchan, however, rejected this motion.

The jury, comprised of 12 New Yorkers, deliberated for nearly five hours after receiving detailed instructions Merchan, who bucked standard practices by refusing to provide the jury instructions in written form.

Trump faces up to four years in prison for each felony count, although concurrent sentencing could limit his total potential prison time to four years.

Bragg, who led the prosecution, argued that the allegedly falsified business records concealed campaign-finance crimes aimed at boosting Trump’s electoral prospects.

Legal analysts across the political spectrum have criticized both Bragg and Merchan’s conduct throughout the proceedings, while Republican critics have pointed to both men’s partisan affiliations as driving the prosecution and court proceedings.

Even CNN is remarking that Stormy Daniels' testimony went beyond the agreed upon limits and should cause a mistrial.

Despite a gag order limiting Trump’s ability to criticize individuals connected to the trial, on Wednesday he vehemently denounced the proceedings as biased.

“Mother Teresa could not beat these charges. These charges are rigged,” Trump said.

Maine Republicans were quick to react to the verdict on Thursday.

Avengers Unite! No really this is just another 1/6 set up, don’t fall for it. It’ll work out through the courts and if for some reason it doesn’t Joe and anybody else who said the laptop was fake guess what, election interference. Law works both ways, or should.

34 guilty verdicts by a jury of his peers. The prosecution witnesses, all 20 of them, were either Trump friends like David Pecker to staff like Hope Hicks. There was tons of paper evidence including invoices, emails, texts, phone logs, etc. Trump and his legal team helped choose the jury. Trump refused to testify in his defense.

Trump violated the gag order 10 times and attacked the judge, the jury, the prosecution, and the rule of law. Trump’s allocation on July 11 will determine his sentencing. His actions will not be seen as remorse. Most likely when given his legal right to speak he will again refuse to defend himself. Trump has only himself to blame. He could have paid Stormy off with his own money and that would have been legal. Look in the mirror Trump – this is on you and you alone.

We all knew this was a set up.
Merchan and his daughter are Dirty Dem operatives.
The fake news media are in the lap of the Dirty Dems.
Even liberals like Dershowitz pointed out the unethical, illegal actions by the prosecutors and judge.

    This will be overturned.

  10. Waldo Otto on May 31, 2024 6:57 AM

Mike Grove You are completely unaware of the circumstances of this case. Here on some points which may allow the case to be overturned:

    >The testimony of the fornicator had nothing to do with the eventual charges
    >The selection of judge is highly suspect
    >Failure to define the crimes
    >Defense did not know of the tax evasion charge until charges were read to the jury
    >Defense was not made aware of witnesses until the day they testified
    >Judge would not allow Defense witness to testify
    >Merchan’s donating to anti-Republican organizations
    >Merchan’s family making money off of the dems and possibly off of a conviction
    >Merchan’s obvious bias on the bench
    >Jury did not need to be unanimous on each of the charges
    >Gag order on Trump but no one else
    >Bias of the Manhattan district Jury pool

Welcome to the American legal system. No matter what party, what charges, what claims and complaints, our courts are corrupt from top to bottom. There must be special classes in law school on gimmicks for winning your case.

Starting with the agencies of the executive branch and their phony appeals processes all the way to that closed door phone call between the AG and the SLC, there is corruption.

Until the people elect representation that promises to be fair and just and actually follows through on that promise, we are stuck with what we got.

And who the Hell can afford a lawyer these days?

  14. ron on May 31, 2024 4:40 PM

if Biden had an ounce of brain matter, he would pardon Trump immediately. This would stop the Gov’t DOJ interference talk and show Biden as a candidate who wants to defeat trump on merit. He won’t do this because he is the most hateful, vindictive president this country ever had.

With every new attack on Trump it should be obvious that the 2020 election was stolen and the political party that stole the election will do anything (short of nothing) to remain in power. We’re seeing history being made as our free representative republic evolves into a tyrannical totalitarian regime.
It’s taken years to get where we are now; schools that don’t teach true US & world history, a press that rivals the Soviet TASS and Pravda, and citizens that don’t know or care about reality.
