Biden Not Considering Dropping Out, Plans to Rock Sept. Debate: White House

Following his slow-motion implosion Thursday night at the presidential debate, calls grew from Democratic Party stalwarts, including mainstream liberal media outlets like MSNBC and CNN, for the president to step down, and for another Democrat nominee to be chosen.

If Biden agrees, that might be a simpler maneuver, but if he clings to power and refuses to step aside, things will be a whole lot messier — and it looks like things are about to get messy.

News reports Friday morning suggest that President Biden has no intention of stepping down and plans to participate in the next debate on Sept. 10 after the Democratic convention, at which he is slated to be officially selected as the party’s nominee.

CNN’s senior White House correspondent Kayla Tausche took to X on Friday morning to dispel rumors that Biden will be stepping down following the debate.

“As just reported on @CNN: Not only does @POTUS not plan to drop out, Biden remains committed to a second debate in September, an adviser tells me,” said Tausche on X.

She did not specify which advisor revealed the information.

The Hill also received similar information from the Biden campaign.

Biden campaign spokesman Seth Schuster responded to queries from The Hill over text, confirming that Biden will not drop out.

“Of course he’s not dropping out,” said Schuster.

He did not provide The Hill with any further information on the situation.

Following the debate, both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris defended the president’s performance, with Biden claiming that he “did well” and blaming some of his failures on an alleged soar throat.

“Yes, there was a slow start, but it was a strong finish,” said Vice President Harris following the debate.

The new information, if true, will likely disappoint many Democrats, who, following the debate, have realized that running Biden as their nominee is looking like it would be an unmitigated disaster for their party.

In a post debate segment, CNN’s Van Jones called for Biden to be replaced before the party convention.

“I think there’s a lot of people who are going to want to see him consider a different course now. We’re still far from our convention, and there’s time for this party to figure out a different way forward if he will allow that,” said Jones.

Even if Biden refuses to step down, Democrats may be able to replace him by invoking the 25th Amendment, which allows for the removal of a U.S. president who is deemed unfit for office. However, that would require cooperation from Republican Members of Congress, who may not be keen to help Democrats replace Biden with a mentally sound candidate.

    If they invoke the 25th amendment then Kamala Harris becomes president and it would be hard to deny her the nomination, even though she is probably worse than Biden and more unpopular.

    There is talk about replacing OBiden with RFK, Jr. as the Democratic nominee. He’s right about the “death jabs” and hospital protocols (CDC guidelines using Remdesivir to murder Covid patients) but he’s no better than Bernie Sanders on most other issues. Selecting Shanahan as his VP choice confirms he is a socialist. MAGA!
