Former Republican President Donald J. Trump emerged bloody but in a fighting spirit after several shots were fired towards his podium at an event in Pennsylvania on Saturday, with one of the bullets appearing to wound his ear.
“Fight! Fight! Fight!” Trump bellowed just seconds after surviving a hail of gun fire, resisting his security detail raise a fist of defiance.
“During Former President Trump’s campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on the evening of July 13 at approximately 6:15 p.m., a suspected shooter fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue,” the Secret Service said in a statement.
“U.S. Secret Service personnel neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased. U.S. Secret Service quickly responded with protective measures and Former President Trump is safe, the USSS said. “One spectator was killed, and two spectators were critically injured. This incident is currently under investigation. and the Secret Service has notified the FBI.”
The alleged shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by U.S. Secret Service sniper fire after firing 5-10 shots on the president, one of which struck and killed a Trump supporter standing behind the president.
Shortly after the assassination attempt, video began to emerge raising questions about the response of President Trump’s security detail. In several videos, rally attendees said that they saw Crooks positioning himself atop a building some 150 yards away from Trump’s position. Those individuals said they attempted to alert police; however, their warnings went unheeded.
In another video, three female members of Trump’s Secret Service detail can be seen stumbling around in apparent confusion, with one struggling to holster her firearm.

Secret Service, another government agency not up to the job, Next up the FBI
The desire for justice after this election makes me think of the Clint Eastwood movie, “Hang Em High.”
Political violence promoted repeatedly by a man has it turned against him. It’s appalling and un-American on all levels. Nobody can deny that Trump hasn’t called for violence, made fun of victims of political violence (Paul Pelosi), and instigated political violence. Now it was turned on him and one attendee was killed and two others wounded. I despise the use of violence. Anyone who says Trump is a person of high moral character is just lying to themselves. Trump made jokes about what happened to Paul Pelosi, and Don Jr. posted a picture of a hammer and men’s underwear on his X.
It begins with Republicans stopping promoting violence. It also demands Trump and Republicans apologize for their promoting of violence. Trump and Republicans can be seen and heard promoting violence all the time – see we live in the digital age and it is recorded for all time. Trump calls the rioters on 1/6 “Patriots.” Well because of Trump 5 law enforcement officers died and over 150 were injured defending our democracy.
This should never happen to any candidate or attendee at any rally. Yet here we are. The Secret Service screwed up bad, really bad. Someone must be fired over this. Trump’s own team failed as they reviewed security with the Secret Service before events. How this guy got to the high point without being noticed is totally unacceptable. In fact, the Secret Service should have been stationed on the roof.
Believe it when I say that I’m glad Trump’s injuries are minor and that I wish this had never happened.
I feel for the other victims and hope countless rally around them and their loved ones.

It wasn’t the right who shot up a republican baseball game. It’s not cities run by conservatives where inner city violence is so bad you can’t even safely ride public transportation during the day any more. It’s it just precious when leftist think themselves holier than though. You’ve declared Trump worse than Hitler and you think the unstable people on your won’t run with that. If you on the left think your not culpable you’re the ones deceiving yourself. Violence is always wrong.

Jon – who made jokes about Paul Pelosi having his skull cracked? Donald Trump. Has Trump apologized for making jokes about that? No, and he never will.
Going back to the campaign trail in 2015 and 2016, Trump actively encouraged supporters at his rallies to attack protesters. On the day of the 2016 Iowa caucuses Trump implied that protesters might be planning to throw tomatoes at him. So, he said, supporters should feel free to “knock the crap out of ’em” — and that he would pay their legal costs throughout his Presidency and after he has supported violence and those that commit political violence on his behalf.
Trump sowed the seeds of violence and still will – it’s in his DNA and that of Republicans.
