The Auburn Police Department revived a homeless woman on Monday after she was discovered floating in the Androscoggin River.

At approximately 2:42 p.m., Auburn Police and the Auburn Fire Department responded to reports of a body floating in the river between Main and Mill Streets.
The officers who first arrived on scene quickly located the woman and pulled her out of the water.
They began life-saving measures, including administering CPR and Narcan. Police did not specify whether a drug overdose caused the woman to end up in the river.
After officers’ efforts, the woman responded and regained vital signs. She was identified as a 37-year-old homeless woman, but police did not release her name.
She was transported to the Central Maine Medical Center, where her condition is stable.
The incident remains under investigation.
