At approximately 3:05 a.m. Auburn police executed a search warrant at the 1777 Washington Street North Quality Inn.

Police obtained the warrant following a traffic stop the night before where officers allegedly received information regarding interstate drug trafficking activities.

During the warrant execution, police allegedly seized 15 grams of suspected cocaine along with fentanyl pills and $5,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

Investigators believe the illegal drugs were transported from Connecticut for distribution in the Lewiston/Auburn area.

Police arrested Mantrell Tidwell, 33, of Lewiston on charges of unlawful trafficking of cocaine, unlawful trafficking of fentanyl, and falsifying physical evidence. He was issued a $10,000 bail

Law enforcement also arrested Anita Tanis, 22, of Lewiston, on charges of unlawful trafficking of cocaine and unlawful trafficking of fentanyl. She was issued a $7,500 bail.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department’s K-9 Unit assisted in the investigation.
