U.S. Secret Service’s Failure, Sluggish Response to Trump Assassination Attempt Raise Concerns

In the hours following Thomas M. Crooks’ attempted assassination of former Republican President Donald Trump, questions immediately began to swirl over the U.S. Secret Service’s chaotic, slow, and inept security and evacuations protocols before and after the shooting.

“I have already contacted the Secret Service for a briefing and am also calling on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to appear for a hearing,” said Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), the ranking Republican on the House Oversight Committee.

Much of the criticism centered on the obvious question: How was a shooter allowed to take a firing position just 150 yards from Trump’s podium with a large rifle and a clear line of sight on the Republican presidential nominee?

Satellite footage of the event space, where Trump was holding a rally in Butler County Pennsylvania, shows that the building complex from which Crooks attempted assassinate Trump was one of the only elevated positions in the area, making it an obvious position to station Secret Service agents.

No agents where positioned on top of the building. Additionally, cell phone footage from the rally appeared to show a ladder positioned on the backside of the building, which Crooks may have used to take his position.

EVIDENCE OF A SET-UP:
– Secret Service did not secure the nearest tall building, ~400 feet from the stage with line of sight
– A ladder had been placed in advance of the shooting on the building

Further fueling the concerns over the Secret Service’s conduct, several Trump rally attendees said they observed Crooks crawling into his prone position and tried, to no avail, to make law enforcement aware of the threat.

This man warned the police and Secret Service that there was a suspicious man with a rifle. They ignored him.

So many witnesses saying they alerted police and Secret Service of a suspicious man on the roof with a gun.

They did nothing.

Unbelievable failure. The head of Secret Service needs to resign. pic.twitter.com/JOMVNdI9aq

Another video seen millions of times on X shows a Secret Service sniper surveilling in the direction of Crooks, but the sniper appears to recognize Crooks as a threat only after several shots had been fired toward Trump.

Question is, why didn’t they shoot him first?????

Trump’s evacuation from the stage also seemed to drag on interminably. For more than five seconds, a handful of Secret Service agents kept Trump on the stage, as if uncertain as to which direction to safely escort him out of danger.

Once Trump was offstage, further delays ensued as the vehicle prepared for departure. In one viral video, several female members of Trump’s detail can be seen bumbling around his vehicle in confusion.

CIA, FBI, Sec Service, DOE are, if I had to make a bet, all politicized, corrupt organizations. Who and what are behind this? Just like the lies surrounding the JFK story, there may be a lot more to this one than is being presented. I ain’t buying the lone shooter story.

…totally inept coverage by SS. All the drones were on the ground instead of in the air! Even SS should be able to operate them for security purposes in these circumstances.

those ladies did make sure they put their cool looking shades on though! Really didn’t do anything else.

“The Secret Service makes me nervous” is the opening line of a once-popular Irving Berlin song. After watching that gaggle of security agents try to form a protective cover for Donald Trump, I became very nervous. Short ladies trying to pretend they are big enough and strong enough to be part of a human defense barrier is ridiculous. They looked like Keystone Cops. If I were Trump I would want the protection of 7-foot giant men, whatever color, well trained and at their physical best…and enough of them to form a real shield.

Biden’s entire administration is incompetent. Needs to be replaced.
