U.S. Rep Demands Answers from Blinken after State Department Held Taxpayer Funded Post-Election Therapy Sessions

U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) accused Secretary of State Antony Blinken last week in a letter of using taxpayer money to host therapy sessions for State Department employees upset about President Donald Trump’s electoral victory.

“I am concerned that the Department is catering to federal employees who are personally devastated by the normal functioning of American democracy through the provision of government-funded mental health counseling because Kamala Harris was not elected President of the United States,” said Rep. Issa.

Issa was disturbed that ostensibly nonpartisan government officials were so distraught by President Trump’s landslide victory that they needed therapy, and he criticized Blinken for accommodating them.

“It is unacceptable that the Department accommodates this behavior and subsidizes it with taxpayer dollars,” said Issa.

He suggested that State Department employees who need therapy because of Trump’s victory might try to resist or undermine his foreign policy agenda.

“If foreign service officers cannot follow through on the American people’s preferences, they should resign and seek a political appointment in the next Democrat administration,” said Issa.

“The Department has no obligation to indulge and promote the leftist political predilections of its employees, nor soothe their frayed nerves because of the good-faith votes of—and at the personal expense of—the American taxpayers,” said Issa.

Issa penned his letter after the Washington Free Beacon revealed the therapy sessions earlier this month, and gave Secretary Blinken a deadline of November 22nd to respond to a series of questions related to the events.

He demanded to know how many therapy sessions were conducted and how many more are planned, and asked to review the materials used in the sessions. He also requested details also on how much the sessions cost, whether any were being conducted abroad, and if any similar therapy sessions had been held in the past for other reasons.

Four anonymous sources familiar with the matter told the Beacon that at least two sessions were scheduled, and one source referred to the therapy as a “cry session.”

“Join us for an insightful webinar where we delve into effective stress management techniques to help you navigate these challenging times. This session will provide tips and practical strategies for managing stress and maintaining your well being,” said a State Department email, according to the sources.

Blinken has not responded publicly to Issa’s questions, though days have passed since the deadline Issa tried to impose.

Taxpayers should not be paying for therapy sessions for federal workers who can’t handle the fact that their preferred candidate didn’t win. The American people spoke and the Dems lost.

Note how 92.5% of DC’s voters, voted for Kamala, while only 6.6% voted for Trump (Decision Desk HQ [>95% reporting]-{1}). And 21.2% of Washington DC’s workforce works for the government-{2}.

Anyone who signed up for the “ therapy sessions “ should expect to get a pink slip in January .

You do not need therapy, you need jail time for letting 300,000 illegal kids get lost.

These are the kind of employees that need to be sent down the road kicking rocks. I can’t imagine how disrupting these employees are to the job at hand.

And these people are entrusted with handling relations with our allies and adversaries in a remarkably dangerous world?

What better evidence do you need that our education “system,” in cooperation with the Federal “Government,” has created an employment pool of simpering, wimpering, coddled snowflakes that have not grown up in any meaningful intellectual sense, and are deathly afraid of having to do so?

    I was going to ask how they navigate simple tasks like getting to work in the morning;
but chances are they don’t show up at the office, because it’s too scary.

Fear of Growing Up — FOGU. This disgusts me, and frightens me no end.

I wonder if the FBI, the DOJ, and DOD have the same problems.

Unbelievable. And the reality that it is now believable must have a profound effect, and not in a good way, on the thinking of our adversaries as they contemplate “chess” moves and worse.

No wonder Kackles flew the coop to Hawaii, and Joey from Scranton has all but retired. I wonder if his Cabinet will give him a gold watch with a prepubescent female with long hair pictured on the dial face.

They don’t need the therapy, it’s just a con to get a paid day off. How easy was it for them to convince someone they needed the therapy and to get the money for it? Hello, Bueller, …Bueller….

I remember a cartoon from many years ago….maybe in Playboy, when they had great ones.

It shows a board room type setting, with the head honcho sitting at the head of the table, lots of wimpy looking functionaries sitting in the rest of the seats.

The head guy says “all those opposed can signify by saying “I resign.””

There needs to be a formal notice that anyone who is traumatized by a democratic election outcome, to the point of needing therapy, is unfit for service in the Federal Government and is hereby dismissed with prejudice. Submit your resignation forthwith, and your separation papers will be in the mail, assuming there are still workers
able to do their jobs, regardless of electile trauma.
