The Lincoln Academy in Newcastle is offering a support room for high school students struggling emotionally with President Donald Trump’s landslide victory on Tuesday.

The Maine Wire received an internal email from Kelly Duffy, the private school’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction in the Social Studies department.

Duffy, who lists her pronouns in her email signature as “She/Her,” informed students that the school’s social workers would set up a room for anyone traumatized by the election.

She reminded students that they should not take their emotional distress to the school’s regular health center because the center is reserved for physical ailments.

The Maine Wire reached out to Duffy, asking whether similar services were offered when President Joe Biden was elected in 2020.

She did not respond.

Don’t remember seeing the same for the 2020 election, oh that’s right I forget that liberals are a special kind of people that require coddling and instruction on how to think to survive, god bless their little heads.

Got 2 “adult” daughters who have vapor locked over the Trump win, having a “break down”, you can’t talk them down, as far as they think, the world is ended, we need to be teaching kids how to have a back bone, not every one wins and get a trophy in our world!

Probably upset because they just realized they’ll have to pay off their own student loans.

I’m distraught – now I have to suffer through my retirement accounts recovering the over 30% loss in the past 4 years. Now we are going have to suffer through lower food and energy prices yet again. Oh, the horror of it all. I think I’m going to need a safe space with hot cocoa or maybe some bourbon.

And NONE OF THOSE STUDENTS can sign their names. They can only print them. Someone should call an ambulance for those mental retards.

No doubt this school provides trophy’s for participation. These students are not old enough to vote, why are they having a meltdown? Maybe the STAFF are the ones who need mental help… Here is what they need to do… SUCK IT UP and GET OVER YOURSELF!

Pathetic of the school. They are proving to be indocrination centers that educate little

Embarrassing, no wonder our school scores are in the toilet.

They need support all right. A kick in the @$$ to remind them to worry about kid stuff. Like doing homework and who going to the prom with whom. On the other hand, Parents, Teachers, School administrators, the Media, and Politicians, all need to be kicked repeatedly between the pockets for the sin of stealing childhood from our children.

Anything for the students who supported Trump?

  17. Bobster on November 10, 2024 9:24 AM

I guess that the students realize that their community elected a man that is a convicted felon (tax fraud) and lost a civil case about rape. They also are probably pretty disappointed that the country voted for a man that cheated on his pregnant wife with a porn star, mocks the handicapped and was charged with stealing public documents. In that light, it is understandable that they are experiencing some distress.
