The Portland Police Department has announced that they responded to a shooting incident late Sunday night, marking the third shooting incident in the city officers have responded to within the past week.

Police say they responded to Maplewood Street at about 11:30 p.m. on Sunday for two reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers found a Ford Expedition parked at 1344 Washington Ave. with significant damage.

Police say two of the vehicle’s windows had been shattered and that there appeared to the several bullet holes in the vehicle.

Multiple shell casings were also found nearby on Maplewood, police said.

“This does not appear to be a random act,” Portland Police wrote in a Monday press release. “No injuries were reported due to the incident.”

Sunday evening’s shooting is the third shots fired incident in the city since Dec. 23.

Shortly after 4:40 p.m. on Dec. 23, Portland Police responded to 22 Sanborn St. for a report of a shooting.

At the scene police found 23-year-old Destiny Bullock of South Portland suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Maine Medical Center in Critical Condition.

The following day, police announced the arrest of 21-year-old Ayden Jordan of Portland for elevated aggravated assault in connection to the shooting.

Another shooting occurred just after midnight on Dec. 26, at 139 Cumberland Ave. in Portland.

Police say they discovered numerous damaged windows and penetration defects inside and outside the apartment in the area, with over a dozen rounds being fired into the building.

Shell casings were found in the snow in nearby Peppermint Park, and no injuries were reported by any of the occupants.

This progressive game plan is really coming together nicely. Not long from now Pland residents will only consist of lawless liberal government, dealers, homeless, immigrants and drug addicts none of which pay taxes. Good luck with that. Actually they’re only two piles of human excrement away from being san-fran now.
