A minor earthquake struck Maine late Monday morning, rattling residents across parts of New England but causing no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded the 4.1-magnitude quake at 10:22 a.m. local time.

The epicenter was located at a depth of 20 kilometers (12 miles), approximately 19 kilometers (12 miles) east of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and 75 kilometers (47 miles) east-northeast of Manchester, New Hampshire.

Residents in Maine, New Hampshire, and parts of northern Massachusetts reported feeling brief tremors on social media. Some described shaking windows, swaying light fixtures, and startled pets, though no damage was immediately reported.

The New England region is not typically known for frequent seismic activity, though minor earthquakes are not unprecedented. Monday’s quake is considered moderate for the area and serves as a reminder of the region’s susceptibility to rare seismic events.

Officials urged residents to report their experiences to the USGS “Did You Feel It?” website, which helps scientists collect data on the reach and impact of earthquakes.

Funny I worked in Portland, OR for a week and I noticed all the earthquake kits on all the equipment out there. I know they’re near some volcanoes but I asked how often they get earthquakes and the guy said he never felt one. And I’ve had two in the last 10 years.
This one felt like a train going by, everything shaking, while the other ones years ago which was around sabago lake was like someone launched me straight up.

That was Tom Homan’s homeland security team reacting to the corruption of Drummond Woodsum and their efforts to interfere in the deportation of all the illegal alien criminals we the people have mandated by electing President Trump.
