The U.S. State Department, under Trump’s chosen Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, announced its new “One Flag” policy, preventing federal facilities at home and abroad from flying non-American flags, such as Pride or Black Lives Matter (BLM) flags.

The Washington Free Beacon received exclusive access to the text of the directive and published large parts of it.

“The U.S. flag is a powerful symbol of pride and it is fitting and respectful that only the U.S. flag be flown or displayed at U.S. facilities, both domestically and abroad,” says the new rule.

“The flag of the United States of America united all Americans under the universal principles of justice, liberty, and democracy. These values, which are the bedrock of our great country, are shared by all American citizens, past and present,” it added.

Violations of the new policy carry serious consequences, including possible termination of employment.

The order does allow exceptions, permitting the Prisoner of War/Missing in Action and the Wrongful Detainee flags to continue to fly at U.S. facilities.

Though the order does not specifically mention either, it is likely aimed at pride and BLM flags that the Biden Administration flew alongside American flags at government facilities, including foreign embassies.

In February 2022, the U.S. embassy in Brazil proudly announced that it would be flying the BLM flag, a flag flown by violent rioters during the 2020 protests sparked by the police killing of career criminal George Floyd.

Former President Joe Biden’s administration also flew the Pride flag alongside the American flag.

Under the second Trump administration, Americans will no longer be represented worldwide by flags of far-left causes.
