Border Patrol agents recently apprehended five individuals who illegally crossed the U.S.-Canada border near the northernmost Border Patrol station in Maine.

Chief Patrol Agent Juan Bernal, head of Border Patrol Operations in Maine’s Houlton Sector, announced in a post to social media on Monday that agents recently apprehended four Indian nationals and one Algerian national who had illegally crossed the border.

“Crossing into the U.S. illegally is never good, especially on a frigid morning without proper clothing,” Bernal wrote.

“Van Buren Station agents recently apprehended four from India and one from Algeria, some in light clothing and tennis shoes,” he wrote.

Bernal also recently warned of the dangers of illegal northern border crossings during the winter, citing Maine’s hazardous terrain and the risk of hypothermia in sub-zero temperatures.

No additional information regarding whether the five illegal aliens were released, detained or put into removal proceedings was provided.

The Van Buren Station, located in Aroostook County, is the northernmost Border Patrol station in Maine and covers an area of responsibility of roughly 160 miles of Maine’s border with the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Quebec.

Monday’s announcement from Chief Patrol Agent Bernal came after he last week said agents in Caswell were able to make use of a drone to locate and arrest two Romanian nationals who had crossed the border illegally.

Good Job United States Border Control .
Keep up the good work .
We appreciate your work in trying to stem this illegal invasion of our country .
Send these criminals home where they belong .
Or Guantanamo Bay if nobody back home wants them .

It sounds like the illegal immigrants will be breathing new life into Guantรกnamo. Why not also transfer some of the murderers, rapists, Chinese mobsters, etc., which could also free up some space in the mainland prison system.

Should have saved us some money and just sent them back over the border the way they came. Which state agency was waiting to pick up the illegals?

I assume they paid a con-man, USAID, to drive them to the border and drop them off. I would love to know how they got to Canada from India, and Algeria. They didn’t swim. They don’t appear too smart, who paid for their tickets? Any bets on USAID?
