At approximately 5:55 p.m. on August 9, Westbrook officers responded to the area of Westbrook Commons following reports of several gunshots.

Officers arrived to discover that a man had allegedly fired a handgun at several people walking in the Commons.

Police determined that all of the individuals involved were known to each other and assessed that the incident was allegedly a targeted shooting.

No one was struck during the incident, and the suspect was not immediately located

He was identified as Calvin Lombard, 21, of both Westbrook and South Portland, following an investigation, and police arrested him without incident on Wednesday night.

Lombard was charged with attempted elevated aggravated assault, reckless conduct with a firearm, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, and threatening display of a weapon.

He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail, where he was held without bail.

I’m old enough to remember when shooting at someone used to be considered and charged as attempted murder.

What is it with these young punks they think they’re living in the Wild West with all these shoot outs and drive by shootings.

Maybe we should build a replica ok coral in the boonies and just let them have at it so no innocent bystanders get shot. The justice system is just going to give them a slap on the hand and let them go anyways.
