Two people out on bail were arrested in Rockland on Thursday after police found cocaine and other narcotics in their vehicle during a traffic stop.

Rockland Police say they were conducting proactive patrols around a suspected drug trafficking location in Rockland around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, when they stopped a vehicle for multiple traffic violations.

During a search of the vehicle, police found approximately five grams of cocaine base (crack cocaine), along with other smaller amounts of other suspected illegal drugs.

The operator of the vehicle, 30-year-old Brianna Willis of Waldoboro, was arrested and charged with felony unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and violating conditions of release.

According to police, Willis was on bail for a prior felony drug charge at the time of her arrest.

The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Nicole Caven-Gardner, 36, a transient, who was arrested on six outstanding arrest warrants and on six sets of bail conditions.

Why on Earth would they let someone out with more than one set of bail conditions? Clearly they can’t live up to one, so they need to not be let out to rack up five more? Our District Attorney seems to not be all that interested in prosecutions.
