The USMS-led Maine Violent Offender Task Force (MVOTF) received information suggesting that fugitive Jameel T. Clark-White had escaped to Maine, and was hiding out with known associates in the state, the federal law enforcement agency said.
“Through continued collaboration, unwavering dedication, and exceptional investigative efforts, another dangerous fugitive has been successfully apprehended. There is no safe haven for wanted persons in the State of Maine,” said Maine Chief Deputy Marshal Josh Taylor.
The search for Clark-White spanned multiple towns, including Orrington, Brewer, and Bangor, and eventually led to his hideout after task force members spotted him leaving a Bangor residence and entering the passenger side of a vehicle.
MVOTF members, with the assistance of officers from the Bangor Police Department, conducted a stop of the vehicle and took Clark-White into custody without incident.
Clark-White faces a massive list of charges, and was the subject of multiple Massachusetts arrest warrants for:
- Drug possession.
- Possession of a machine gun.
- Three counts of possession of a large capacity firearm.
- Carrying a loaded firearm without a license.
- Firearm violations with three prior violent drug convictions.
- Carrying a firearm on school grounds.
- Receiving stolen property.
- Leaving the scene of property damage or an accident.
- Driving with a suspended license.
In addition to fleeing from active warrants, Clark-White was also out on bail for a slew of other crimes from the Massachusetts, Middlesex Superior Court including:
- Armed robbery.
- Armed carjacking.
- Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious injury.
- Assault and battery attempt with a firearm.
- Cocaine trafficking.
- Fentanyl trafficking.
- Carrying a firearm without a license (second offense).
- Possession of a firearm with a large capacity magazine.
- Additional unspecified charges.
His list of alleged crimes doesn’t end there. After his arrest, Clark-White was transported to a Maine jail while awaiting extradition to Massachusetts, and, while there, he incurred additional charges.
Authorities discovered him to be allegedly in possession of illegal drugs while in jail, and the Bangor Police Department added charges of trafficking schedule W, and trafficking in prison contraband to his substantial rap sheet.
The USMS District of Massachusetts and Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS) assisted in the investigation.
Clark-White is the second fugitive from Massachusetts apprehended by Marshals in Maine within the past seven days.
On Thursday, Marshals arrested Dominican Trinitarios gang-member Yonaidry Lascano Rosario, 24, who was found hiding out in Bethel, fleeing numerous charges for violent crime.
