Rockland police allegedly tried to initiate a traffic stop of Dylan McClure, 27, earlier this week based on the belief that he was driving with a revoked license.
Instead of pulling over for the officers, McClure allegedly fled, accelerating to over twice the speed limit and running a red light, nearly causing multiple crashes. Police broke off the pursuit at the time because they were already aware of the driver’s identity and were concerned that further pursuit would put other drivers at risk.
On Friday, police pulled over another vehicle and arrested McClure after they determined that he was a passenger in the vehicle.
During the arrest, officers discovered an unspecified quantity of crack cocaine. At the time, McClure was out on probation for a prior felony drug conviction.
He faces charges for driving to endanger, aggravated operating after habitual offender revocation, refusing to stop for law enforcement, criminal speeding, and unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs.
He is currently being held without bail on a probation hold.

He was previously arrested last March after he allegedly fled from officers during a traffic stop while being subject to an active arrest warrant.
