At around 5:30 a.m., deputies executed a search warrant at 98 Main Street in Hartland. The sheriff’s office reported that officers repeatedly announced themselves before entering the home.
Deputies found Isaac Robinson in his bedroom, allegedly armed with a knife.
He reportedly approached deputies with a knife. Deputies then allegedly demanded that Robinson drop the weapon, but he reportedly refused to comply and continued approaching the deputies with the weapon.
A deputy and a detective opened fire, killing Robinson at the scene.
Both the deputy and the detective have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard practice when officers use lethal force. The use of force will be investigated by the Attorney General’s Office.
It is not clear what prompted the search warrant at Robinson’s residence.
A Facebook page belonging to an Isaac Robinson living in Hartland includes a picture of a person who may be the deceased.
