An alleged domestic violence incident in Livermore on Thursday that included gunfire and prompted a response from the Maine State Police Tactical Team.

The Androscoggin Sheriff’s Department received a call at around 10:45 p.m. reporting a domestic disturbance at 9 Newman Road in Livermore.
The alleged female victim told police that an argument escalated into a physical altercation. When she attempted to flee the residence, the suspect, David A. Newman, 32, allegedly cut the house’s power before running outside and firing three shots from his firearm.
Androscoggin County deputies responded and attempted to contact the suspect but were unsuccessful. The Maine State Police Tactical Team was called in due to a potential threat to the public posed by the armed alleged domestic abuser.
Law enforcement obtained a search warrant for the residence and an arrest warrant for Newman.
At around 5:55 a.m. on Friday morning, the tactical team took Newman into custody without any further incident.
He was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail, where he is being held without bail on charges of domestic violence assault, domestic violence criminal threatening with a firearm, and domestic violence reckless conduct with a firearm.
