Police have arrested two young men in connection with a late-night shooting last week at the Redbank Village housing complex, officials said Thursday.

South Portland detectives, joined by multiple law enforcement agencies, executed a high-risk search and arrest warrant on Wednesday at a home on Preble Street in Gorham. Officers took Adam Figueroa-Gomez, 19, of Gorham, into custody without incident. He is the second suspect charged in the case.

Figueroa-Gomez faces counts of criminal threatening and reckless conduct, both Class C felonies, along with misdemeanor charges of terrorizing and violating conditions of release.

Police had previously arrested Zane Ibrahim, 18, of Kennebunk, on Sept. 24. He was charged with criminal threatening, reckless conduct, and terrorizing.

The arrests stem from a Sept. 23 incident, when police say multiple 911 callers reported gunfire around 10:50 p.m. outside the Redbank Community Center on MacArthur Circle West. Witnesses told police shots were fired into a crowd from a vehicle that sped away. Officers later confirmed evidence of gunfire, though no one was injured.

Just days earlier, on Sept. 20, police received calls about shots fired near Westbrook Street and Devereaux Circle. No victims were found in that incident.

Detectives said they quickly identified the suspects and the vehicle involved in the Sept. 23 shooting. The vehicle was later located in Kennebunk, leading to Ibrahim’s arrest. Investigators obtained a warrant for Figueroa-Gomez after gathering additional information linking him to the case.

Out of precaution, Gorham police issued a Code Red alert to residents within a half-mile of the Preble Street home during Wednesday’s arrest. Nearby schools, including Village Elementary, Gorham Middle School, and Gorham High School, went into a “secure” status until the operation ended.

Both suspects remain charged in connection with the shootings as the investigation continues .
