Air Canada has pulled the wings of one of its captains.
Well actually he had no wings to pull.
The unnamed “captain,” as it turns out, was flying in the left seat without a license.
The best part is Air Canada officials say passengers weren’t endangered.
The airline, which did not name the pilot, claims he held a “valid commercial pilot license” but was promoted to captain without the required airline transport pilot permit.
Air Canada says the fake captain was removed from active duty once he was discovered and voluntarily reported to Transport Canada.
The pilot is no longer employed by the airline.
“Air Canada says safety was not compromised and an audit of its pilots found no other instances of non-compliance,” reports The Canadian Press via Yahoo.

Say what you want, but he’s a lot better than the lady pilot that belly flopped and rolled the Delta plane up in Ontario the other day, and she was fully licensed.
If he had received all of the training necessary to fly that aircraft type then safety was probably not an issue. Plus there would have been a fully qualified pilot in the right seat who could take over. These planes are so automated now they practically fly them selves anyway.
This was obviously more of an administrative issue than one with the pilots competence. How long had he been in the left seat without the co-pilot noticing his lack of skill if any? Still, that doesn’t excuse him from following proper procedures. They are there for a reason.

OK. Lovee, tell this kind young man who works at the primitive newspaper about our nephew who manufactures micro navigation chips. Oh, and I will have a martini dry with two olives. I haven’t had lunch yet.
How’s that? BRAH HA HA HA HA
