Scarborough police are searching for a man who robbed the Chase Bank on Hannaford Drive Wednesday afternoon before fleeing in a maroon Chevrolet Trailblazer with out-of-state plates.

The robbery was reported around 1:40 p.m. Police said no weapon was shown, but the suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Authorities described the man as a white male in his late 20s with blond hair and stubble. He was wearing a gray sweater, black sunglasses, jeans and tennis shoes.

Not long after the incident, a vehicle matching the suspect’s was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run crash on Gorham Road near Mussey Road before heading northbound.

Scarborough police are asking anyone who saw the suspect vehicle driving erratically or involved in a crash to call (207) 883-6361.
