MSP Investigating Two Adults Found Dead in Tremont

The Maine State Police are gathering information after local police discovered two dead adults in Tremont.

At approximately 8:57 a.m. on Tuesday, the Southwest Harbor Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting an incident near Big Rocks Road in Tremont.

The 911 caller informed the police that he found two deceased adults.

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit responded to assist the Southwest Harbor Police and is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The bodies are set to be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death.

The Maine State Police Evidence Response Team also responded to the scene.

Police provided scant details on the circumstances surrounding the deaths and did not disclose the names of the deceased. They promised to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The Maine State Police do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public. They asked anyone with relevant information to reach out.
