The Maine State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Falmouth on Saturday that claimed the life of a 19-year-old from Connecticut.

At approximately 1:57 p.m., State Police troopers responded to a crash on the Falmouth Spur, near the I-295 north on-ramp.

The caller who reported the crash said that the vehicle had seemingly gone off-road and hit a guardrail.

Falmouth Fire and Rescue joined troopers and arrived to find a white 2013 Subaru Impreza with the driver trapped inside.

Rescue personnel extracted the driver from the vehicle and identified her as Joamaliz Orozco, 19, of East Hartford, Connecticut.

She was transported to the Maine Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Though the investigation remains ongoing, police believe that road conditions and weather were the primary causes of the crash.
