The deportation officer involved in a deadly shooting in Minneapolis on Jan. 7 allegedly suffered internal bleeding from the incident.

Jonathan Ross, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who fired defensive shots at a protester who allegedly attempted to drive over him, suffered internal bleeding in his torso, according to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official who spoke to the Daily Caller News Foundation. The new details follow rampant criticism from Democrats over the incident and demands that the agency leave Minnesota.

The agent allegedly shot 37-year-old Renee Good while she blocked the street with her vehicle during an enforcement operation and began to drive off when officers approached. Video footage shows Goodโ€™s car hitting Rossโ€™ hip as he fired several shots through her windshield, ultimately killing her.

โ€œYou people in the media, not everybody in this room, but many people in this room, have been lying about this attack โ€ฆ Everybody whoโ€™s been repeating the lie that this is some innocent woman who was out for a drive in Minneapolis when a law enforcement officer shot at her, you should be ashamed of yourselves,โ€ Vice President J.D. Vance said earlier in January of allegations that Good was not obstructing the operation.

The uproar has caused Ross to go into hiding, with federal agents packing up his belongings and helping him relocate. Democrats in Minnesota have since sued to end the ICE surge throughout the state and Democrats in Congress are threatening to cut funding to DHS unless drastic reforms are forced onto the department.

This is a breaking story and will be updated when more details come forward.
