At approximately 11:00 a.m., the Marshal’s Office arrested Zachary Williams, 50, of Buckfield while executing a search warrant at his residence on Allen School Road.
During the warrant execution, investigators allegedly discovered and seized multiple items that could be used in the manufacturing of explosives.
Investigators believe that Williams was behind a January 12 incident on Decoster Road in Sumner.
During that incident, explosives were detonated in a snowbank in front of the home of Williams’ acquaintance.
Williams was charged with two counts of criminal use of explosives. He was transported to the Oxford County Jail but was subsequently released on a $500 bail.
The Maine State Police, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Buckfield Fire Department, and Waterville Civil Support Team all assisted in the investigation.
