The King progeny running for Maine governor as a Democrat is apparently not all in with his party allowing boys in girls’ locker-rooms.
During a debate this week, the son of the state’s junior U.S. senator declined to say whether he will vote with the liberals against the upcoming referendum.
“King said athletic associations and schools are capable of handling that specific issue themselves, but that he, too, will stand up for Mainers whose rights are being threatened,” according to an account of the debate in the Portland Press Herald.
The candidates were asked to stake a position on the ballot question asking whether to ban “transgender” athletes from playing in girls’ sports.
Three of the top-tier names in the primary race – Bellows, Pingree and Shah – said they’re thumbs up allowing boys to pretend they’re girls.
Joining them with the up-thumb on boys invading female locker-rooms was Troy Jackson.
Angus King III’s response, besides being a cute dodge, actually makes no practical sense, which of course is why he’s refusing to be pinned down on it.
If the referendum passes, schools won’t be deciding that an XY suddenly gets to be an XX by simple declaration, to speak in chromosomal tongue.
Angus is sounding more and more like Daddy – a Democrat who pretends during elections to be an “independent.”
Too bad the Portland Press Herald didn’t press young Angus on his huge straddle.
