The Bangor Police Department arrested a man on Friday after he allegedly chased a woman with a knife after she received a protective order against him.

At approximately 5:39 p.m., police responded to reports from multiple callers that a man was inside a Summer Street office building threatening to murder people while wielding a knife.
One caller reported that she had a protective order against the suspect, identified as Jeremy Trudeau, 35, of Bangor.
She reported that Trudeau was waiting for her outside the office building.
Witnesses allegedly told police that Trudeau chased the woman into the building as she screamed for help.
She reportedly barricaded herself inside a room, and Trudeau allegedly attempted to force his way through the door.
Bangor Police Officer Samantha Ellis responded and arrested Trudeau as he attempted to enter his vehicle.
Trudeau was transported to the Penobscot County Jail, where he faces charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, terrorizing, domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence terrorizing, violation of a protection order, and criminal mischief.
As of Monday morning, Trudeau remained in jail.

Trudeau seemingly has a history of knife-related incidents. In 2016, a man with a matching name and age was charged in connection with a stabbing incident on Pierce Street.
