SOUTH PORTLAND — Republican gubernatorial candidate Jonathan Bush has raised more than $2.1 million in his campaign for Maine governor, according to new figures released by his campaign, a total the campaign says sets a new fundraising mark for a GOP candidate at this stage of the race.
The Bush campaign said the latest total follows another strong fundraising period, with the candidate raising just under $350,000 from donors while personally investing another $500,000 before the reporting period closed Tuesday at midnight.
“Jonathan’s simple message, shrink Augusta and cut taxes, is resonating statewide and we are seeing significant support and interest in this campaign,” Bush campaign manager Eamonn Dundon said. “Janet Mills and the Democrats have run the state for years and have brought the state’s economy to a screeching halt. Maine primary voters should know that Jonathan Bush is the only GOP candidate who will have the resources to beat the Democrats in November so we can get Maine working again.”
The new fundraising total comes after Bush reported raising $1.3 million in his 2025 year-end financial report, the only previous campaign finance report he has been required to file during the race. According to the campaign, Bush raised more during that period than all other GOP candidates combined.
The campaign said Bush has also been barnstorming the state with a heavy schedule of campaign events and was the first candidate for Maine governor to launch a major statewide advertising buy across television, streaming, digital, and radio.
Bush has continued to significantly outspend other candidates on the air, according to the campaign.
An outside group supporting Bush’s candidacy, Maine Dream, also reported raising another $855,000.
Bush, a father of seven, has described his background as including work as an ambulance driver, a former U.S. Army medic, and a CEO who brought 1,000 health care careers to Maine.

Excellent a nepo baby who put in nearly half of the cash he’s raised. We definitely need an ambulance driver with no government experience running the state.
