A South Berwick man was arrested on Tuesday following an hours-long manhunt after he allegedly threatened a family member with a knife before fleeing into the woods.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., the South Berwick Police Department responded to reports of a domestic disturbance at 20 Warren Pond Road.
The caller reported that an adult man had threatened a family member with a knife.
Officers arrived to discover that the suspect had fled into a nearby hunting cabin in the woods.
They attempted to make contact with the suspect and convince him to leave the woods, but he refused.
The Southern Maine Special Response Team responded to assist local police in arresting the suspect and began an hours-long search.
The Special Response Team eventually found and arrested the suspect, identified as Robert Hundley, 30, and charged him with criminal threatening and violating conditions of release.
He was transported to the York County Jail.
The Rollinsford, New Hampshire, Police Department assisted in the investigation, along with the York County EMA Drone Team.
